Sylvia Haskvitz, R.D., MA

Sylvia Haskvitz has been in the field of education since she was thirteen tutoring pre-teens. As an adult she taught in public, private and charter schools in San Francisco and Tucson and  she taught foreign language in after school programs. She enjoys developing learning activities that support joyful learning through experimentation with creativity and nature. She has offered NVC trainings in many education departments and school settings across the country.

Sylvia has been a certified trainer with the international Center for Nonviolent Communication since 1989 and has planted the seeds of compassion in numerous communities throughout the U.S. She is the dean of Educational Services for Elucity Network, Inc. bringing NVC to organizations and businesses throughout the world.

Sylvia authored the book, Eat by Choice, not by Habit (Puddle Dancer Press 2005, being reprinted in 2008); authored the chapter Enemy Images in the book Healing Our Planet, Healing Ourselves (Elite Books 2005); and co-authored with Jean Morrison the chapter Conflict Resolution and Understanding of Self: Key Aspects of Nonviolent Communication® (NVC) for the college textbook One Paradigm, Many Worlds (Cambridge Scholars Press 2008).

She has created several CD’s to share both the language and consciousness of NVC, one of which is specifically for educators.
